Tom

Friends,

It’s been a little over a week now since I moved on from being President of the CU here in Southampton.

I could probably write a short book on the things I have learnt and the joys/struggles of it all (in fact, I’m seriously considering doing so), so this email isn’t to do that otherwise you’ll be here all night reading this.

It’s really a thank you for your faithful prayers for the work of the CU in this city, and for me in my leadership role. To have known that I have had the prayer support of people across the globe has been of huge encouragement – thank you.

In September I head up to Wimbledon to begin work at Dundonald Church. I will begin a quarterly prayer bulletin once I start there – if you don’t wish to remain on the list, please do let me know. I won’t be offended at all!

Also, as I said a few months ago, I’m looking to raise roughly £10k per annum to support me during my two years of training at Dundonald. Thank you to those of you who have been so generous in pledging to support me financially from September, and if there are others who feel able to support me in this way, then please do get in touch.

Above all though, your prayers are invaluable. But as we know, it doesn’t stop here! So with that…

…please continue to pray:

for SUCU as it moves forward: especially for Ollie Jeffs, the new President

for Alex, my course-mate, who came along to a few things in Events Week and is reading Mark’s gospel

for my degree: I really need to knuckle down and do some work now!

for me as I prepare to go up to Dundonald in September

for my financial situation for next year, that God would faithfully provide

for Josie, as she recovers from glandular fever

that in everything, I would keep Christ at the centre and continue to run the race with perseverance

Finally, I’ll leave you with a video which gives some of the highlights from our recent Events Week.

It was probably the most exciting week of the year (as well as the most exhausting) – hundreds of people heard the gospel, many responded, and that’s what it’s all about – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI8NOwAlwH4

Wise words from Paul to finish: “But I do not account my life of any value or precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God”

Press on

Tom.
